You've Come to the Write Place.
I'm Katherine! Thank you for taking an interest in my work!

I live in Washington state, with my partner of seven years and our sweet cat, Willow. I collect books and houseplants - and have too many of both. I have a full-time job in the tech industry, working from home, which gives me more flexibility when it comes to writing. I'm happiest when I'm creating something, whether I'm in the kitchen baking something new, or making homemade gifts like candles. I also love traveling! Though I think Washington will be my home for the rest of my life, I never want to stop having new experiences in new places.

In 2021, I received my Bachelor's of Arts in Creative Writing from Western Washington University. When I enrolled, I planned on studying journalism, but quickly switched majors after discovering WWU's strong creative writing community. It was one of the best decisions I've ever made. I learned how to really be a writer, and gained confidence in myself and my work. I studied under wonderful authors and made many close (and talented) friends.

I've been writing since I was young. I wrote song lyrics with a friend in spiral-bound notebooks, and eventually began writing poetry and fiction in high school. While I primarily write poetry, I enjoy writing in a number of genres, including fiction, creative non-fiction, and prose. Recurring themes in my work include family, food, and home. Often, these themes are intertwined. However, while I often write about real experiences, I am not always the speaker of my poems and enjoy writing narrative poetry.

I am currently working on several projects that I will be sharing more on soon!
